Ann Writes Notes

Hi There! God there is so much happening in November! Hanukkah, Thanksgiving, and the ever so stressful, Nanorimo. Though I have participated in Camp Nanorimo, this will be my first ever dash to
50,000 words in November. To tell you the truth, I have no idea whether to be excited or scared. I mean even during the Summer when I had no school and only 30,000 words to write, I was already stressed out so add 20,000 words and seven hours of my day taken out and you have the situation I will be in. With so much overwhelming writing going on, I will do my best with posts though expect shorter posts than usual and more "guest writers". I will do my best I promise but if I end up behind on words or just get stressed out with how dreadful I am at writing fiction, that is I guess what I will have to resort to. I think the moral of this post is how terrible a blogger I am.
Love you guys!

Ann's Note- October

Autumn Leaves
Hey you!
October by far, is my favorite month. Not only do I celebrate my fourteenth birthday on the eleventh (cough cough wink wink nudge nudge) and get to walk around dressed up getting free candy, but a lot of pretty rad things are happening in October. For one, I am seeing Tavi Gevinson on the fifth and The Rookie Yearbook came out today. October is cool as frick. This month on How Fitting is also pretty freaking cool. We have an awesome new member: Sophie who is one of the coolest people I have ever met. October is also the month is which I begin my "adventure" of living by Seventeen Magazine. As I told Viv, this could either be the coolest thing I have done through this blog or the stupidest thing to put my time towards. I guess that is the mindset I am in for every adventure. All in all, October is a month full of adventure, autumn leaves, and me celebrating the day of my birth (on the 11th).
Love you guys

Ann's Note

Winners Circle
Hey there!
And here we are on the first day of August! Unlike During the school year, when the passing months come most people are excited, the Summer is much different. Here we are in the last month of Summer 2013. A ton of rather important events happened in the month of July. One of the biggest events and things that I have completed in quite a long day was making it to the winners circle in Camp Nanorimo 2013. Yes I actually did finish The Year I Fell In Love With Saskia Hamilton and to tell you the truth, I am actually happy how it turned out. Will it be the next bestseller? Definitely not. Is it well written? It was written in eighteen freaking days. Of course not! Am I proud of it? Hell yes. The point of Nanorimo is to kind of make an outline of the novel you will edit and perhaps even rewrite later and though I really do love it, I highly doubt that I will end up making the choice to touch up my story. I like it being my first ever Nanorimo novel and I am surely keeping it in it's true form of crappiness.
Onto the subject of this month's blog posts, I can definitely promise some much better quality work out of me now that I am not writing 2,000 words each day. In addition, our new writers have been doing great and of the drafts Emma and Fiona have sent me (I am such a Tavi), there is some amazing content for this month and other months to come. Just a small insider on How Fitting, I have been talking to another person about writing every other Saturday so who knows what the hell will happen! So tell me, what are your plans for the month of August? I cannot wait to see you lovelies for this month's "Things You Must See" and "Monthly Fashion Bible" I am just telling you now that every single thing we are suggesting to you is utter perfection.

Fashion Bible: May

April showers bring May flowers! Exactly four days ago, I celebrated the creation of howfittingblog.blogspot.com. This blog is my baby and I couldn't be more happy with how much it's expanded over these last three months. I mean didn't this website start with a disorganized jumble of words called a "Monthly Fashion Bible"? Without getting deep, I just want to say thank you and I hope you enjoy my May edition of the first thing I ever posted.
Tops

With the weather getting warmer, it's finally time for light weight shirts! My favorite are the button up ones that blouse out when tucked into a pair of pants or shorts. I tried going with bright colors along with cute springy patterns to go with it.
Where to find: Thrift and vintage (expensive)

Pants/ Shorts
It is finally time to break out those shorts! This Summer and end of Spring, I have been wanting to buy a proper pair of high rise shorts with the buttons and everything. I finally found an adorable pair of badge high waisted ones and would love to say that they are kind of the best thing ever. I have seen pairs with patterns on them but I'd have to say, I believe they look better solid. I also prefer solid shorts so it gives room for patterned shirts (don't you dare ever wear patterned bottoms with a patterned top). On those cold days, I whip out a pair of jeans and a summery shirt.
Where To Find: Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters

Dresses
I'm trying to go brighter this month and therefor I decided it was time to start wearing bright, summery, sundresses! I like the lighter ones for the cottony pieces don't flow as well and are hotter. My new favorite kind of dress is the ones with collars for it gives a retro vintage look.
Where to Find: Thrift and Vintage

Accessories
While thrift shopping, I found this beauty under a pile of giant church hats and I have to say, I am in love. Floppy hats are beachy and casual which I like about them. They can also cover up a bad hair day (which is every other day for me). You could wear it with about anything: bathing suit, sundress, shorts etc.

Shoes
Sperry's can go with a cute pair of shorts and a dress or two but what about when you want to look girly? After scavenging through a couple stores at the mall, I finally discovered these treasures. They have cats on them. I repeat THEY. HAVE. CATS. Flats are nice because you can dress them up and down and always give off a cute and feminine look.

Happy May! I wish for sunny days, cute shorts, and end of testing for all of you!

Things You Must See: May

I cannot believe that it's already May! For this week's post, I ended up pausing from a post on thrift shopping (you'll see it soon enough) and get writing on an awesome list of things you must see for May! I will be warning you, with my upcoming bat mitzvah this month, I will be refraining from blogging for a little bit. I will be posting things just not as much. I don't think anyone is more sad about this than me. So here we go:
Music
This month, I've been wanting to take back the oldies. I have been recently going back into the songs from the late 90s and early 2000s. My favorites at the moments would have to be Aaron Carter and The Backstreet Boys. Almost all of us have jammed out to "I Want Candy" and "I Want It That Way". And yes indeed I did think "I Want Candy" was about actual candy.... One thing I am head over heels crazy about is the fact that Aaron Carter is back (and absolutely adorable)! I don't even need to go into how much I need to see him. in addition, he is touring with the gorgeous girl band, Petrel. A band of three sisters including Destiny, Bekah, and Jess Petrel. All three of them are amazing, stunning, and talented musicians.
Television
One thing extremely exiting in the month of April was the return of MTV's Awkward. Awkward has climbed it's way up to being one of my favorite shows currently. The show revolves around the unpopular and rather socially girl Jenna Hamilton. After following Jenna through three other seasons (and a rather twilight-like scenario where she chooses between two boys) we have finally reached junior year where it seems as though basically anything can happen. It's funny, relateble, and has super cute guys. What more could you ask for?
Books
I have finally gotten my hands on a copy of Tavi Gevison's Rookie Yearbook! It's almost impossible to explain my deep love for this collection of artwork, photographs, essays, and articles. This book is gorgeous inside and out. I would call it the older version of an "American Girl" book on growing up. Tavi Gevinson is a beautiful, fashionable, creative, genius.

Food
With this being a section in this annual post, I am happy to say that I had fun stuffing my face with food. One of the best things I have made in April would have to be M&M Pancakes. Yes, pancakes with freaking M&Ms inside of them. I hope with all my that you're a better chef than I am.
