Monthly Fashion Bible: June

We hit June! You know what that means! Sunny days, warm nights, and lightweight clothing! With me going off camp in a few weeks, most of my clothing for June is more causal and durable than the more high maintenance pieces I usually wear. So lets jump right into the third installment of "Monthly Fashion Bibles". You could also title this blog post "Ann Gets Lazy With Fashion"
Tops
Yes, I think we all know about my deep hatred for T-shirts but I've been dealing with them for the past couple days. Even though I can't stand wearing Ts I have been finding a couple pretty decent ones such as an old Ed Hardy I found in my closet. It's not the name written across the chest that I like. It;s the design. Even though it's hard, I like to find personality in the simple tops I wear and hope that somehow that'll make them interesting. To add some fun to this otherwise simple top, I'd tuck into a cute pair of shorts and add a cute pair of sneakers. It's casual and cute!
Bottoms
I have cleaned out my drawers of most of my jeans and stocked up on more shorts. My favorites are fun solid colors or just plain jean shorts. As cute as patterned ones are, they are a bitch to pair up with tops. I mean how many solid tops to do you own?
Shoes
My cat flats are still my go to shoes even though I am pretty exited about my new converse! As much as I hate wearing sneakers I am pretty freaking exited to walk around in these "Wonder Woman" sneakers. I prefer converse over other sneakers and running shoes for all though they aren't the most athletic shoes, they are way most unique and fun!
Accessories and Dresses
I didn't add in these two sections for this month I've been wanting to go for a more casual look now that slouchy summer is coming up. Even though these two are my favorite sections,I won't be wearing much of them.
Hope you have an awesome June!

Fashion Bible: May

April showers bring May flowers! Exactly four days ago, I celebrated the creation of howfittingblog.blogspot.com. This blog is my baby and I couldn't be more happy with how much it's expanded over these last three months. I mean didn't this website start with a disorganized jumble of words called a "Monthly Fashion Bible"? Without getting deep, I just want to say thank you and I hope you enjoy my May edition of the first thing I ever posted.
Tops

With the weather getting warmer, it's finally time for light weight shirts! My favorite are the button up ones that blouse out when tucked into a pair of pants or shorts. I tried going with bright colors along with cute springy patterns to go with it.
Where to find: Thrift and vintage (expensive)

Pants/ Shorts
It is finally time to break out those shorts! This Summer and end of Spring, I have been wanting to buy a proper pair of high rise shorts with the buttons and everything. I finally found an adorable pair of badge high waisted ones and would love to say that they are kind of the best thing ever. I have seen pairs with patterns on them but I'd have to say, I believe they look better solid. I also prefer solid shorts so it gives room for patterned shirts (don't you dare ever wear patterned bottoms with a patterned top). On those cold days, I whip out a pair of jeans and a summery shirt.
Where To Find: Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters

Dresses
I'm trying to go brighter this month and therefor I decided it was time to start wearing bright, summery, sundresses! I like the lighter ones for the cottony pieces don't flow as well and are hotter. My new favorite kind of dress is the ones with collars for it gives a retro vintage look.
Where to Find: Thrift and Vintage

Accessories
While thrift shopping, I found this beauty under a pile of giant church hats and I have to say, I am in love. Floppy hats are beachy and casual which I like about them. They can also cover up a bad hair day (which is every other day for me). You could wear it with about anything: bathing suit, sundress, shorts etc.

Shoes
Sperry's can go with a cute pair of shorts and a dress or two but what about when you want to look girly? After scavenging through a couple stores at the mall, I finally discovered these treasures. They have cats on them. I repeat THEY. HAVE. CATS. Flats are nice because you can dress them up and down and always give off a cute and feminine look.

Happy May! I wish for sunny days, cute shorts, and end of testing for all of you!

Monthly Fashion Bible- March

Happy almost March! This March, seems like the biggest deal to me for it means only two months away from my long awaited bat mitzvah. Having to learn a whole three pages in a language that you barely know could probably be up there on the list of things that are the most stressful and most of my time has been spent locking myself in my bedroom just trying to finish the things before May. Being the procrastinator I am, instead of practicing Torah I've spent those hours of guilt looking through my closet for what I think of as "Hidden Treasures" or in normal language, things that you totally forgot you owned.
March is that month that you can't say is cold or hot. Therefor, your outfits have to accommodate that awkward feeling of being cold just not cold enough to whip on those three layers.Talking about hidden treasure, I found an old "Charlotte Russe" forest green tank. I then paired it up with a "Forever 21" lace blazer that I normally wear to bat mitzvah. Lastly, I put on my favorite edgy hand-me-down "Abbey Dawn" pants. This style could work without the blazer also by replacing it with a flowing cardigan or even a three quarter sleeved top. This picture was actually taken in December so it was just the perfect weather for straightening hair but in March the humidity and rain prep for April can make just hot ironed locks become giant nest of frizz. Suggestions for hair are curls and or wearing it up to give it a more preppy look.

Colors- Dark greens (forest, ivy, etc), Deep reds, browns, tans, soft grays, washed out denim
Tops- solid tanks (washed out or dark), Tight 3 quarter sleeves (washed out or dark)
Pants- Patterned leggings and/or jeans, washed out denim
Skirts- pattered! (plaids, no floral!, Buffalo check) lace, knee length with tall boots or calf length with short boots
Shoes- BOOTS! converse (classic red is usually the best), Tall boots with laces (as seen above), ankle length boots with zippers.
Jewelry- CHUNKY, Collar Necklaces (view blog), tight bracelets, infinity (view blog)
Hair- Keep it curly! High ponytails, low braids (just one!), ballerina buns
