Bulletproof Loneliness

Me and a couple friends hung out the other day. I could talk a lot about how Sam fell in the duck pond or taking "grunge" photos of Sophia but I'd rather focus on just how nice everything has been. I mean I have friends again. I have people who I legitimately enjoy being around and that has been something I've been deprived of for the past couple months. I've never really been a person to stick with the same friend group for more than a year for I am rather difficult to be around. I get anxious easier than ever and I tend to be rather jealous. I'm am usually unaware of how rude and just plain mean I can be and I have a huge issue with either being too loud or quiet. Within the past three years, I have had over four friend groups that I have either drove insane to the point of ditching me or I never really made the effort to get close with them. Since last year, it seems as though every single group of friends I have had is temporary for just had the feeling that no one could ever tolerate me.
It seems like a pattern almost in the past couple years. I tend to change drastically personality and interest wise and like one of my old "friends" claimed, people change but I become a whole new person to the point where she didn't even know me anymore. Maybe I do change too quickly. I have an issue in which I just hate the Ann I am at the moment so I change myself into what I want to be. It can be confusing. I don't even know how many times I have changed within the past couple months but I have finally gotten to the point of just being OK with who I am and I don't care
if this is only temporary. I don't care if the people I love and rely on right now leave me in a couple months for right now, I am happy.

Us

For a good month or so, I have been waiting for one of my favorite singers, Bribry, to release his fifth EP. The Irish singer and You Tuber announced his new collection of songs with the release of "Care". A sweet song with an adorable music video of him dressing up for a wedding which was a perfect gateway into the theme of Us. What I love about Bribry is that every one of his EPs have a theme. Staying Together was pieced around the past, Misadventure was about traveling, Grow was the story of getting older and more mature. All of these themes connect to something going on his own life at the moment and Us was no exception. What I took from the four track collection was marriage. Each and every song covers points of not only getting married but being in such a serious relationship. To make this really come to life, Bribry features gorgeous vocals from his fiance, Candice. Not only is her voice mesmerizing, but putting the lovely lady he himself proposed to really brought the theme to life.
The EP featured four gorgeous songs but my favorite no doubt would be "Hopeless" for it really captures Bribry's own relationship with his soon to be wife. He has mentioned in previous videos that him and Candice are going to be together forever not in a classic romantic way but just because they are the only two people who can really stand each other and in the song, he mentions
"if we were a perfect match, it wouldn't feel like this." Also, how could you forget the stunning re-release of "Astronauts"? Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love the Staying Together version of the song but I appreciate this on a whole new level. The song is just as gorgeous but there is something so powerful hearing this song be so developed.
All in all, Us is A+++ and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone.

Fashion Bible: March

And we are back to March again! I find this post somewhat more important than the other fashion bibles for after all, the first ever How Fitting post was a Monthly Fashion Bible for March!
Tops
I love floppy cropped tanks for they are so easy to make anything look automatically casual and just fun. Since it is still Winter, I would suggest wearing skinny jeans (at least that is what I wear) or possibly leggings for bottoms.
Bottoms
OK how could you not love DIY patched jeans? I really like these bottoms for they have a personal touch to them and though you can buy them, I find it really cool that people take the time to make and collect these patches.
 Shoes
I have been really slouchy lately and have taken to wearing mostly sneakers because I'm boring. Though I basically just wear the same pair of white converse every day, I have a certain love for Vans (especially the floral kind) for not only are they super comfortable, they come in all sorts of styles and designs.

Things You Must See: March

Websites
I have  certain love for Emotional Baggage Check, a music website in which you can either "check your bags" by writing a problem of your's or just something you are struggling with and then leaving your email or you can "carry a bag" and write a little note of reassurance to this mystery person and leave a link to a song that you think connects to the topic. I really love this website for I have used it in the past and it really shows you that people care and want to help.

Books
This month, I ended up finishing Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock in a day. Not only was the novel perfectly written, the plot was so twisted and beautiful and the character development was A+. The novel follows Leonard, a teenager going through issues with loneliness and abandonment, making the decision to kill his ex-best friend and then himself on his birthday. Everything about it was so unique and Matthew Quick did an extraordinary job of really putting you into Leonard Peacock's mind.
Movies
As awesome as "Frozen" was, Hazel Haye's short film "Super Brainy Zombies" was no doubt my favorite movie last month. The twenty minute film revolves around Hazel and You Tubers such as Chris Kendall, Benjamin Cook, and Jack Howard surviving the zombie apocalypse. As great as the entire film was, the end of it blew me away.

Synonymous Photoshoot

Synonymous Photoshoot: The Process

During this unrelenting, terrible winter, I only did a few photoshoots. The weather was brutal, and the overall mood of the winter was just dreary. But, on a relatively nice day in this horrible winter, I did my first band photoshoot. It was a totally new experience and very enjoyable, but at times difficult. I did it with the band Synonymous, which featured Adison, Frankie, Ema, and Monica- all of whom are beautiful with amazing talent. Prior to the photoshoot, I knew that as time went on, and this band got more popular, people would be choosing their favorite band member(s), so it was imperative that I also shoot individual shots as well as group shots. Another reason I shot individuals was to capture each girl's individuality, uniqueness, and personality. First, I took a trip to lead singer Adison's basement to hear this band practice. They were very good, and in listening to their music live I got a feel of their band type which helped me choose the background and feel of the photos. I took some starter shots of them singing and practicing, and even shot a video of them or two. Then I ventured outside in 40 degree weather with my black sketchers and no jacket, and started shooting. Obviously, taking a normal photo with four girls (who are all friends) would prove to be difficult. In the midst of them doing funny faces, protesting when I took their instruments away, and bursting out laughing about every fifteen seconds,  I did manage to get a few good group shots. Now it was time for individuals.  This was an amazing process, for I loved seeing each girls personality and quirkiness shine through. During this part of the shoot, I took one girl at a time to a different setting. No other people were allowed to be there during this (so the girl being photographed wouldn't be pressured by the other band members), so when one band member was being photographed, the other three girls had to just hang out on the porch. I took Adison to the front yard, outside of her house, because the tree she was near added a nice touch to the photos. I took Monica near the shed, for the shed's blue walls contrasted nicely with her blonde curls. I took Ema near the brown wooden fence and tree, because the rustic and earthy feel went nicely with Ema's beautiful mane of waves and tanned skin tone. I took Frankie to the back of the house where a vine of leaves grew, because the blue and green tones made Frankie's newly dyed hair (which was blue) stand out.  By the time of the second individual shoot, my toes were turning numb, and earlier during the shoot I took Monica's black fleece (although I don't know why I didn't take my own jacket). Then we took much more group photos, one including the band lying in the middle of the street, which I protested against. The band members were, at times, silly and uncooperative, but spending a few hours with some really good friends of mine was really fun. And we also got some great shots.

I'll Be OK

I am beginning to like myself again.
I talk to people and laugh and smile and this time it isn't artificial.
I am happy with the people I have around me and I love each and every one of my friends because as I get to know them better, I realize that they are people who care about me and I don't doubt that for a second.
When I look in the mirror, I am satisfied.
I don't look for a thigh gap or stress over my hair
I smile.
I started keeping a diary again and I put my seventh grade journal in my closet
for that year is over
and that Ann is over
