As the new season starts, that means all the more new music coming out! Though loads of artists are dropping singles, albums, and EPs in the next couple weeks, I'm only here to discuss some of my top bands and singers and the previews they've given on their latest releases.
As most of you know, canadian singer/songwriter, Lights, is one of my favorites ever and I'm beyond excited for her latest album, Little Machines, to drop on September 23. So far, she has put out two singes, "Up We Go"and "Portal". Starting with this first one mentioned, I would just like to say Lights is a genius for giving her fans a preview of her latest album through that song. "Up We Go" is a super upbeat and fun tune that gets stuck in your head so easily. I'm not kidding, I had the thing on repeat for days! Releasing the slow ballad, "Portal", afterwards was also a smart move just to show how versatile she can be and my god is it gorgeous. I'd be excited regardless of how good the first two singles are since Lights is my favorite female singer but these two songs are perfection and I'm counting the days until Little Machines come out.
Since seeing them open up for The 1975 at Terminal 5 last year, I've been obsessed with Sir Sly and was over the moon when they dropped the first single to their new album, You Haunt Me, (the single is also titled that). Unlike the other two artists who I talk about in this post, I believe this album is a much bigger deal since it's Sir Sly's very first! The Los Anglos based band has only released a four track EP and two singles (not to mention the "Marvin's Room" and "Afterlife" covers) so in all, they haven't released much music. Just like "Up We Go", "You Haunt Me" was a very over played song in my Spotify library- I think the reason I'm so obsessed with it is because how chill it is. The entire song is very calm and minimalistic and just plain awesome. Their very first album will hit iTunes on September 16 and I could't be more excited.
My favorite male singer in the entire world, Bribry, was just signed to a record label and I am extremely proud of him since he has been producing his own music for so long and this is a major step in his career. With the news of the signing, he also gave his YouTube subscribers a preview of his new single! Though it was only about thirty seconds of the song, from what I heard it sounds amazing. I love how he uses about every part of his voice in this one and the production is very different from what he's been doing for the past couple years. Bribry has also announced a tour and though he's only put up the pre-sale tickets to Glasgow, I have my fingers crossed for a New York City date because that would be the best thing ever and I'd no doubt sob a lot since he is like my all time favorite musician and wow I'm tearing up just at the thought of it.
Anyways, expect long, full out, posts for each of these once they actually get released and I listen to them. You've been you, I've been extremely excited.

Back To School Lookbook
With school just around the corner (mine starts tomorrow!!!!!) I made up a lookbook of a couple of my favorite outfits and to have you guys basically get the gist of what my style for this upcoming year will be.
Outfit One
This year, I've decided I wanted to dress a little more gothic but when I found this plaid dress at Forever21, I could't resist. I also have quite a thing for peter pan collars so this is awesome.
-What I'm wearing:
♥Forever21 Dress
♥Doc Martens
Outfit Two
This is one of my comfortable outfits that still makes me look put together while not wearing a dress or skirt. I've become a huge fan of knit sweaters and I love how simple this Forever21 one is. The pearls give everything more of a formal look and add a pop to the simple top.
♥Hot Topic skinny jeans
♥Forever21 block sweater
♥Forever21 pearls
♥Buffalo Exchange boots
Outfit Three
Outfit Five
I plan on wearing a whole lot of sweaters this year since I'm in love with draping and folding them over skirts. When I saw this shirt at a consignment shop, it automatically reminded me of my 5th-6th grade Sanrio obsession so I just had to go for it.

"Doo-Wah-Doo" was playing- how could you not?
I dance about the same way I did when I'm five.

Outfit Three
This is one of my most typical outfits. I have had quite the thing for long, black, flowy skirts for awhile and last year I bought this awesome one from a thrift shop. Since I believe the look is too much if I wear a tight top under this (I'm really not crazy about elastic waistbands showing), I like draping a big sweater on over it.
♥Buffalo Exchange sweater
♥Thrift skirt
some shots of me in my rightful place
Outfit Four
This is my main go to for a causal outfit. Since I love band shirts and flannels (hold your lesbian jokes, I already drive everyone crazy making them myself), I like put them together under a pair of skinny jeans.
♥Flannel: my uncle
♥Let Live Martyrdom Of Sex and Fame tee: Hot Topic

Can I be one of those unattractive but in a cute way bloggers? Like is that even a thing? Can being really gross be my trademark???

August Favorites
Welcome to September! Last month gave me a whole lot of time to become obsessed with some of the lovely things I am about to show you
♥Lush
Lush is a YouTube couple vlog channel created by Matthew Lush and Nick Laws in which three times a week, they video blog their day. Though what they do isn't always the most interesting (they mainly just go to Starbucks and Veggie Grill), I find it fascinating that they have been doing this since day one (their first vlog is Matthew asking Nick to be his boyfriend) and though watching their 165 video playlist of every single video they have ever made wasn't the most productive thing to do, I love that you really see their relationship progress from the two being kind of awkward around each other to moving into an apartment together.
♥Feminist Apparel
I found this clothing site's instagram a couple weeks ago and have been obsessed with their shop ever since! Feminist Apparel mainly makes graphic tees (from all different artists) with cute (and usually sarcastic) phrases about feminism. My all time favorites are the "Cats Against Catcalls", "Girls Just Want To Have Fundamental rights" , and the "Misogyny Kills" tees.
♥Trxye
♥Rose Wholesale
With school just around the corner and me having cleaned out basically everything from my wardrobe, Rose Wholesale was a perfect place for school shopping. Their stuff is super cheap, adorable, and surprisingly well made.
♥Criminal Minds
OK this is obviously not a new obsession (that is made clear by the entire tag on this blog just made for the show) but it was recently added to Netflix so I feel the need to tell you about it. I'm talking all nine seasons which is awesome since season ten is in two months and why not spend all my time re watching everything just to get ready for it? Anyways, if you are yet to see Criminal Minds, I would seriously recommend it because it has to be not only my favorite crime show (I love love love anything crime related on TV) but just so incredible; not to mention a certain man is on it (cough cough Matthew Gray Gubler)
♥NYC Prep
I just discovered this one a couple days ago when my older cousin suggested it (we both have a love for shitty television) and I have to say, this is one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. NYC Prep is a reality show following a group of privileged upper east side teenagers and their adventures through prep school. The entire cast and what they do is so ridiculous that the only way you can really watch this show is ironically; some gems include when the Chuck Bass character, PC, decided he was bi and one of the girls goes onto saying "I usually think being bisexual is lame but when PC does it, it's hot." or the time that PC finally did come out but instead of sitting his friends and family and breaking the news like a normal person, he hosts a "coming out party". I think what I'm trying to say is that PC's coming out is about the only actual interesting thing that happens in the show.
Happy September!

I have been loving australian vlogger, Troye Sivan's, videos for about a year now and when he announced his first real EP, I was over the moon. Trxye really displayed him as this grown man instead of the cute teenager on the internet and my god can he sing. My favorites off the EP are "Fun" and "Gasoline". The "Happy Little Pill" music video was also gorgeous and I would recommend you 100% watching it.

Ann's Note: September 2014
Well hello there,
Wow this summer has been a blur and even though it sucks that it's over, I am powering through onto the things to be excited for starting this month and continuing onto the school year starting with our brand new schedule! For the past two years, television hasn't been a big thing in my life and though it still isn't very, I do have a few shows I am passionate about and were renewed for new seasons so every Thursday, I will be discussing my favorite shows; "Hannibal", "Supernatural", "American Horror Story", and "Criminal Minds" (new ones may be added too! Also, if "Full Frontal" gets a season 4, I'll be talking about that.) and the episode that week. I'm super excited to start with that (all the shows premiere in October so I will be starting then) since it will give me a bigger part in the communities of all those programs I love talking about.
Onto what's going on in the fall, the thought of school coming back scares me yet makes me excited at the same time. Maybe just because I am starting high school which is especially stressful but I can't help but dread for the beginning of actually having to be productive again. I just don't think I will ever be ready for this to happen and therefor it being forced upon me is a good thing. Hey maybe I'll learn a thing or two or something like that.
Anyways, I am going to end this post off with some photos from the time I become the less awesome Flower Violet and took some kool bathtub shots. You've been you, I've been this thing:

Heading Toward Nowhere At The Speed Of Light
The past couple days have been spent in John's basement as the TV plays some awful reality show and I sit in my permanent spot on the leather couch. John came back from camp about five days ago and I have seen him twice since. The first time was just the two of us- it was nice as we ate pasta at his kitchen counter and then spent the rest of the evening watching "Wife Swap" and then moving onto "Bet On Your Baby" since I didn't believe it could actually be a show (those forty minutes proved me wrong). We then hung out again on Sunday; Sam and Sophia were there and we ended up walking down to town, ordering a pizza, and bringing it up to the park outside his house as we played around with Samantha's new Polaroid and heard stories from John's camp.
I think what I worry about too much is that people who will probably never give a shit about will like me. I drive myself crazy trying to be some person who's impressive and really out of what I'll ever be and end up hating myself in the end since I never get the conclusion I wanted and I believe that is one of the many things I will have to eventually solve but at the moment, I don't need to worry about someone else loving me or thinking I'm cool because I've got some pretty amazing friends that I can't imagine I ever deserve.

A Look Inside Ann's Collage Book (2)
In October, I made a post where I showed you guys some of the pieces I've done in my first collage book and since I've finished that one in May, I've made a couple collages I'm pretty proud of.
My dad being a mapmaker, had a bunch of old atlases that I stole for awesome backgrounds.
This is one of my all time favorites.
