I Think The Universe Is On My Side

I'm just really happy at the moment. I mean this came out of nowhere and all of a sudden, everything is wonderful. My hair has gotten down to a decent length and I have decided to keep it short. The past couple months have consisted with being horribly upset over my hair length to the point where I can't think of anything else and sometimes, I just have to back away.
My friends are some of the best people ever. The days we hang out consist of mostly sitting in the field by a playground by the school. We sometimes run around and play games and just feel weightless. On Friday, we went to Emma's and baked cookies. John, Sam, Emma, and I sat in in her backyard and swing on the creaky play set and everything just felt like it was coming together really really perfectly.

Things Are Shaping Up To Be Pretty Odd

I want to tell you about one of my new favorite memories of these past couple months. It's Friday and we are walking through the parking lot to a playground where not many people from our school go. It's warm and Emma is playing "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" for her boyfriend, Eli, has never heard it. I don't really pay attention to myself for the scenery is so loud. Sophia and Sam discuss going under the bridge after the park and John disagrees and asks what I think. I don't really care. I'm just happy to be with these people that I could do anything. We reach our destination and Sam, Sophia, and I sit on top of picnic tables watching John, Eli, and Emma attempting gymnastics in the field next to the playground. At one point, I jump over the small fence separating us and teach John how to do a handstand.
We go on the tire swing and run through the field and lay down and watch a group of guys play football. My entire outfit is covered in dirt from when Sophia and I ran backwards in a game to catch John and my extensions are out. If this had happened three weeks before, I would be freaking out over my appearance but I couldn't care less right now in this moment because I'm happy and the people around me are too.
We eventually leave and walk over to Sophia's house for Sam fell in the duck pond and needs a change of clothes. John, Victor, and I sit on the couch waiting and we then walk over to John's where we play catchphrase and eat chips in his kitchen.
The tiny details don't exactly matter though for this entire experience is something I haven't felt in what feels like months. I realize how stupid and ultimately lame it must sound that I am getting excited over hanging out with a couple friends on a Friday but my God does this mean so much more to me. I remember one of the best parts of a book I have ever read was in Forgive Me Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick. It isn't exactly important what the direct quote (I would put it in but Vivi has my copy) or the context is just the piece in which Leo describes the best night of his life as feeling high and puts it that maybe the reason why so many people older than him experiment with drugs just to get the same wonderful feelings he was getting that night. That day I felt that high. That warm Friday afternoon made me me realize I don't have to be that girl who cares so much about her appearance or has to have a lot of friends to be "cool" because I've got some wonderful people surrounding me.

A Quick Talk About "Criminal Minds"

It all started off with a fanfic. I usually stick to stories of my own fandoms but the plot seemed pretty OK and I had already read most of the good ones on the website. Long story short, I fell in love. The particular story I read really focused in on Dr. Spencer Reid and Agent Rossi which was pretty interesting and felt such strong feelings towards Spencer even though I hadn't even watched the show before and really did not know much about him. I did like how he was portrayed in the story so I figured to get a better understanding of what I was reading, I should watch an episode of the show. I  wanted to see Rossi and Reid interacting so I chose one from season three.
Though "Minimal Loss" is certainly not the best one, it was definitely enough to get me addicted so I naturally had to go all the way back to the first season and go from there. Since then, I have now hit season four and seriously cannot stop. Though the crimes the BAU solves are fascinating I really think my love for this show rests mainly in the characters. Every single one is likable in their own way. Penelope Garcia is bubbly and funny but she has this side in which she's insecure about herself. Derek Morgan will do anything to protect the ones around him yet doesn't seem to trust anyone. Emily Prentiss went from a desk job to solving crimes at the lowest levels of humanity yet she always seems unfazed by it. JJ is pregnant and trying to work things out with her fiancé, Will, and has this motherly feel towards everyone in the BAU. David Rossi has been an agent for years now and made many mistakes along the way. Aaron Hotchner is trying to work things out with his wife, Hayley but refuses to quit his job to lead a normal life with her and his baby, Jack. And then there's Spencer Reid. Over the past couple seasons, I have fallen in absolute love with not only the character but Matthew Gray Gubler, the actor who plays him. Spencer is extremely socially awkward yet can get angry and over defensive easily. He's constantly worrying about others which is absolutely adorable too. Don't even get me started on Matthew though. Not only is he one of the most creative and talented people out there, he is just so sweet and amazing. He always seems like he's having the best day ever and is constantly smiling. He's also so dedicated to his fans and really seems to love what he is doing (I could go on but this needs it's own post no doubt).
To wrap this up before I go on a full out rant, "Criminal Minds" is no doubt one of my favorite shows and it includes, riveting plots, relatable and interesting characters, and an awesome cast.

March Favorites

Hey babes! Here are some of my favorite things from last month (warning: most of it has to do with the one and only, Matthew Gray Gubler.)
Websites
One of my favorite websites from March would have to be Hello Giggles. I really like how it is set up and has an extremely wide variety of comedy and the people who write and make videos on it.
Books
I have been trying to get around to reading This Star Won't Go Out for awhile now and couldn't be more happy that I finally did last month. The biography follows Ester Grace Earl, a girl diagnosed with cancer. Not only is she such a memorable and beautiful person, but I really loved the unique perspective you really see. It's heartbreaking and rather interesting to see things through the eyes of a young teen with a terrible disease and how she copes. Another thing that made me fall in love was how the book was put together. All 431 pages are made up of photographs, interviews, diary entires, and letters which really gave the reader a look into the life of this girl. This novel is beautiful, heart wrenching, and just so well written.
-From this point on, the post went down into a rant about things I love having to do with Matthew Gray Gubler. I am very sorry.-

Music
Do audio books count as music? Lets go with it. In 2013, my husband Matthew Gray Gubler, recorded himself reading two Edgar Allen Poe classics, Annabel Lee and The Tell Tale Heart. I recently listened to them over again and I have just realized how absolutely perfect they are. Gubler being an actor, does a fantastic job at reading with a voice and really keeping the listener engaged. I think he did especially well in Tell Tale Heart for he really did sound psychotic to the point where I was even a bit scared. Even if you aren't a fan of Poe, I guarantee you will love these recordings.
Videos
I believe the value of this blog just goes up whenever I talk about Matthew. I am not usually one to laugh out loud at something I see on TV or on the Internet so when I began watching "Matthew Gray Gubler The Unauthorized Documentary". I have spent the past ten minutes trying to figure out how to describe this web series to you but I don't think there is a way to with doing it any justice. To sum up my feelings towards it, this mockumentary was probably one of the funniest things I have seen lately. If you are super rad and interested in checking it out, you can click here!
Happy April!

Beauty Product Reviews

I have been trying out a lot of different beauty products and decided why not share them with you guys?
The first product I'm going to talk about is "Sleek and Shine Flat Iron Perfecter" by Garnier Fructis. This is supposed to protect your hair from heat damage and I decided to try it out for I was running low on "It's A Ten" and wasn't going to be going to the salon to get more for a couple weeks. I applied it to every layer of my hair before I straightened it and though it did what seemed like the job, it did make my hair feel a little sticky afterwards. I thought this flat iron protector was OK but I would like it if it would spray a less amount of liquid for I ended up with extremely sticky gross feeling hair for a couple minutes after straightening. Though this is a cheaper alternative for "It's A Ten", it doesn't do nearly as well.

The next hair product is also a heat protectant. My hair has been very unhealthy and damaged for the past couple months due to my excessive straightening and though "It's A Ten" is amazing, I needed something a little stronger so I tried out the "Intensive Hair Repair Masque" by Salon Grafix. To apply this, I took a shower first, and then spread it from my scalp to roots on all layers of my hair (which there are about a million of). I then combed my hair and waited fifteen minutes (you're supposed to wait 3-15 minutes depending on how much hair you have). I then rinsed the product out and I could immediately tell the difference. This made my hair feel much more soft and thin and I'd recommend this 100% to anyone with damaged hair.

Next, I tried out
"Evercurl Conditioner" by L'Oreal. As I said. my hair is extremely damaged from all the dying and heat I've put it through so I've been trying to cut down on the amount of times I straighten and blow dry it. To do so, I have been looking into ways of wearing my hair naturally without getting an Afro. It was somewhat OK though it smelled pretty gross and the bottle was driving me crazy for it only pumps out a bit at a time and I have a ton of hair so I needed a LOTS of it. I swear to God I spent more time wrestling with the bottle to get more out than actually washing my hair. Other than that, the final product was pretty good. My hair looks rather big but it's extremely soft (that might be from the hair repair though) and fluffy. I am not sure if I could ever wear this on a regular basis but it does look better than I expected. I think I'd recommend this to someone with longer hair for mine looks like a pretty fluffy afro right now.

Wow yet another flat iron hair product. Since my hair always looks a little dull after straightening, I decided why not try out "Quenched Mineral Moisture Shimmering Replenisher" by OGX? I am also going to confess at this point that I mostly deiced to go for it because the bottle was pretty. Last week when I straightened my hair, I tried it and the first thing I noticed was how disgusting it smelled. Other than the stench it gave off, it actually worked pretty well and made my just straightened hair much shinier and it ended up looking a lot healthier than it ever will be.

If any of you have ever seen my natural hair texture, you will know how insanely frizzy it can get. I have been using products such as Frizz Ease for years but I have come to not really like texture of it also it has started to make my hair feel quite greasy. I found "Garnier Fructis: Sleek Shine Anti Frizz Serum" at Walgreens a week ago and decided to test it out. The texture is a little thinner than Frizz Ease which was what I was looking for. It did make my hair feel a little greasy though I only used a bit.

My all time favorite type of lipstick are Clinique Chubby Sticks. I right now only have two (Voluptuous Violet and Super Strawberry) and have been looking into investing in another. When I was at Rite Aid last week, I did end up finding "Revlon Color Burst: Honey Douce". I was drawn to it for this lip balm has the same shape as the chubby stick containers. Though the chubby sticks obviously being better quality than a drug store lipstick, I say it did a pretty good job. The texture is about right and though it doesn't last as long as the Clinique, it didn't come off too quickly. The color was also real nice. What I was looking for was a more blush colored pink since all my other lipsticks are very intense and darker shaded but I like how there is a hint of fuchsia in it.
Ok Sally Hansen's "Mint Sorbet" is my new favorite nail color no doubt. Though I am absolute rubbish at doing my own fingernails, I love using this pastel nail polish.

Those were just some of the newest products I have been trying out over the past couple weeks. See you Friday!

I Was Nominated For A Liebster???

I have some pretty exciting and unreal news. I have been nominated by a Liebster! It started off with the one and only, Amelia Mad so I'm going to answer her questions for you guys along with giving you eleven facts about myself (as you do when nominated).
1. My two favorite actors ever are Michael Cera and Matthew Gray Gubler. I have an especially weird obsession with Matthew which I really cannot explain why or how it started.
2. I only actively watch two shows: "Supernatural" (my favorite show) and "Criminal Minds" (guess who is in that). I do also like "Freeks and Geeks", "Daria", "Twin Peaks", "Doctor Who", and "Sherlock".
2. My favorite fictional character is either Dr. Spencer Reid (wow it's not as if Matthew Gray Gubler plays that role or anything- but seriously I do love Spencer for other reasons than that) or Alaska Young from Looking For Alaska.
3. I get scared extremely easily and am unable to watch anything remotely scary which is a problem since all my friends love horror movies.
4. My favorite band is All Time Low and fingers crossed they play Warped because I am yet to see them live.
5. I have met Tavi Gevinson before and it was the best day of my life no doubt.
6. I have an anxiety disorder and therefor can't go to parties which is probably why if you see me at one, I am either on the edge of freaking out or just really trying to find a way to politely leave.
7. I have three shrines in my room: One Hayley Williams, a Rookie shrine, and one for bands.
8. I sing and play ukulele. I have a purple soprano that I painted named Carrie Hope Fletcher (after one of my biggest role models) and a Les Paul concert named Jeremy Davis (after the Paramore member).
9. Being a really anxious and quiet person, I have about ten friends irl. The rest are online.
10. My favorite movies are "Scott Pilgrim Vs The World", "Heathers", "Sixteen Candles", "Perks Of Being A Wallflower", and "Easy A".
11. I have a guilty pleasure for Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers, and Relient K.
Here are Amelia's questions:
1. How is your relationship with your parents?

I believe the realtionship I have with my mom and dad is fine. Are they my best friends? Nope. Do I tell them everything? Definitely not. I like being fairly close with both of them but being a bratty fourteen year old, I'm not crazy about being too close with them.

2. What is your favorite breakfast food?

Breakfast foods are my favorite. I really like chocolate chip or banana pancakes. Any type of pancakes for that matter.

3. How do you break the ice on a date?

The only official "date" I've ever been on was with my last boyfriend to the playground and then Rite Aid and the library. I get really anxious talking to people other than my six closest friends so I'm total shit at making conversation. I believe I did a pretty OK job though by going off and telling a story about my day. I don't think I have a certain way to "break this ice". I believe it's just how comfortable I feel with the person.

4. Where do you wish you were right now?

I'm in my bedroom right now and that's where I feel the most comfortable. I think I'll stay here to be honest.

5. Favorite childhood memory?

I have had the same best friend since I was about four and in about first grade, we ran around my house screaming,
"Gorillas! Gorillas! I like bananas!" which is just really adorable to think of. It's also an inside joke and something we giggle about to this day.

6. Favorite vacation memory?

I remember when I was about six I was in Cape Cod with family friends. It was their son's birthday so we bought an awesome dinosaur pinata. For what seemed like hours and hours we hit at this dinosaur with baseball bats but couldn't seem to break it. My dad eventually have to take a hammer to get the candy out!

7. If two designers could create your dream wardrobe, who would you choose?

Hmm. I think one of them would have to be Betsy Johnson just because I do like dressing as glamorous as her designs are...I seriously can't think of anyone else, man.

8. How would you make the world a better place if you could?

If I had the power to make entire planet a better place, I'd be very overwhelmed. To make a piece of the world a better place, I would focus on people with mental disorders for that is what I feel passionate about. Would this make the entire earth fixed? Probably not but it mends a piece of the planet's population.

9. Most Friday nights we can find you...

Either in my bedroom on my laptop or at a friend's house with four people (maximum) over eating pizza and me begging not to watch a scary movie.

10. Favorite music craze at the moment?

I have found a way to appreciate the craze of Five Seconds Of Summer from afar. Meaning that I myself am not a fan but I have found a way to appreciate the love people have for these Australian boys.

11. If you could party with two celebrities who would you hang out?

I don't think I would like to party with these said celebrities but I could totally eat some pizza with Alex Gaskarth and Matthew Gray Gubler.

For the Liebster, I nominate:
Luz
Pietro
Britney
Flossa
Fiona
Annaliese
Adele
Flower Violet
Clara
Ellie
Maren

and here are my eleven questions for these lovely bloggers:
1. What is your favorite song lyric?
2. How did you find your favorite singer/band?
3. Favorite show?
4. What grosses you out?
5. Have you ever dyed your hair? If not, what color would you dye it?
6. What are three objects you'd take with you on a island?
7. Hot or cold beverages?
8. Favorite food?
9. Can you play an instrument?
10. What do you and your best friend(s) do when hanging out?
11. Who is your favorite actor/actress?

Notes Notes Notes

Hello there! I am going to start this post off saying that this month is a little hectic and my anxiety has been pretty terrible over the past couple days because of it. To start off, NJASK is weeks away. WEEKS. For those of you who have not heard me complain enough, I am taking a supplementary math class because I didn't past the standardized test last year. I have already decided for myself that I absolutely do not want this to happen in high school so that means having to pass this year.
Onto a more exciting topic, I have applied to the Norstrom BP Bloggers Board! I got an email about last week from them recognizing my application and telling me they'd be giving me a date for my interview with them by May 2. This means that throughout this month, I have to work on my fashion project for them. For my own fashion project, I am making a look book of my inspirations and what I like about certain outfits. I am trying to make this as perfect as possible for getting this job means a whole lot to me.
This month's note focuses around how busy and anxious I have gotten just to warn you guys that if I disappear from the Internet throughout April, you will know where I have gone!
Happy April,
